Meanwhile, 'Adipurush' is in the news because director Om Raut has given away an interesting fact. He said that he was inspired to make the movie in a children-friendly manner by Japanese filmmaker Yugo Sako’s anime version of the Ramayana, titled 'The Prince of Light'. The animation film was released in 1992. It was a crossover film that saw the coming together of Indian and Japanese talents.
'Adipurush' is going to have a new way of telling the Ramayana. Om Raut, speaking to Variety magazine, said that its budget is not too high by international standards despite the involvement of a lot of state-of-the-art technology.
The multi-lingual will see Kriti Sanon as Sita. Devdatta Nage has played Hanuman, while Sunny Singh has played Lakshmana. Saif Ali Khan has played Ravana and his is the second most important character after Prabhas'.
