Power Star on OG: “The Energy Reminds Me of Kushi”

The highly anticipated film OG is creating a storm in Indian cinema even before its release. Directed by Sujeeth and produced on a grand scale by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainments, the film features Power Star Pawan Kalyan in a powerful avatar as Ojas. With Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Prakash Raj, Shriya Reddy, and Arjun Das in key roles, and music by Thaman, OG has steadily built massive expectations. Every promotional release has only intensified the buzz, making it one of the most awaited Indian films. The movie is set for a worldwide release on September 25, 2025.

On Sunday evening, the grand pre-release event of OG took place at LB Stadium, Hyderabad, amidst electrifying energy from thousands of fans. Along with the main cast and crew, several top industry personalities graced the occasion. Music director Thaman and his team fired up the crowd with a spectacular live performance, while the biggest highlight of the night was Pawan Kalyan himself singing “Washi Yo Washi” live on stage. The much-awaited trailer of OG was also unveiled exclusively at the event, sending fans into a frenzy.

Pawan Kalyan’s emotional speech

Speaking at the event, Pawan Kalyan shared heartfelt thoughts about the film, his co-stars, and the love he continues to receive from audiences:

“I’ve never attended an event like this in costume before. For the first time, thanks to Sujeeth, I came here in character—and it’s only for the fans. Washi Yo Washi is actually a Japanese haiku. In the film, the hero tells the villain: ‘You are unreachable in the skies, but I will bring you down to earth.’ Through this haiku, the song captures the fear of facing Oji.”

Pawan also expressed admiration for his co-star Emraan Hashmi:

“I’m happy to have acted alongside Emraan Hashmi. His Jhalak Dikhla Ja was once a rage, and he is an amazing actor.”

Talking about director Sujeeth, Pawan revealed their bond:

“Sujeeth is a hardcore fan of mine. During Johnny, he even wore headbands like me. His love for cinema brought him here. After Saaho, Trivikram garu suggested I do a film with him. Sujeeth narrates very simply, but his brilliance comes alive during direction. This film has three stars—myself, Sujeeth, and Thaman. Both worked with madness and passion, pulling me into that same trance.”

He further praised the visuals by cinematographers Ravi K Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa, and described Priyanka Arul Mohan’s role as “beautifully emotional,” comparing her to an 80s heroine.

Reflecting on the crowd’s energy, Pawan Kalyan said:

“The last time I witnessed this kind of energy was during Kushi. Now, I feel it again with OG. Even though I stepped away from films for politics, you never left me. You gave me strength, and with that strength, I fight for the people.”

The Power Star also revealed that he learned Japanese for this film and praised Shriya Reddy as a “fierce and powerful actress,” promising to work with her again in the future.
