Unbelievable! The expensive jewelry used in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ are original – Check the glittering video

Mani Ratnam’s epic multistarrer ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ based on Kalki’s novel of the same name will hit the screens worldwide in five languages on September 30th.  The teaser released a few weeks ago has upped the ante for the film multifold.

Now an interesting bit of information has been officially revealed that all those amazing jewels that Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the other ensemble cast members used in the film are original.  Usually in films duplicate jewels are used but the perfectionist Mani Ratnam has opted for originals.  Lyca Productions that has bankrolled the mega project has shared a video announcing that Hyderabad based Kishan Das and Co has partnered with the project by providing the original jewelry.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ has music by A.R. Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman with A.Sreekhar Prasad handling the editing.  The main ensemble cast comprises of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban.
