‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ makers unveil new BTS promo video with first single update!

The expectations for Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ skyrocketed after the first part became an all-time blockbuster. The sequel is gearing up for a massive global release on April 28. As the release is just 50 days away, the makers decided to promote the magnum opus with exciting updates.

Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies officially announced today that the first single from the ‘PS2’ album is coming soon with a new promo. We can expect the single release by next week as a grand audio launch is planned by month end or April beginning. In the new video, we were shown how Trisha’s character look was designed in the movie. 

Trisha plays the intellectual Chola princess, Kundhavai. The clip shows the various looks that she tried before locking the final one. Ponniyin Selvan, the dream project of Mani Ratnam and Tamil cinema, is an epic historical fiction about the Chola dynasty, its setbacks and its rise. It is the official adaptation of legendary writer Kalki’s novel of the same name. 

With music by AR Rahman, the mega multistarrer has Karthi, Jayam Ravi,  Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Ashwin, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu and others. The technical team includes cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad with art direction by Thota Tharani.
