Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a Karnataka visit currently. On Monday, several Sandalwood names such as Yash and Rishab Shetty were spotted at a meet-and-greet session with the PM.
Also seen were former cricketers Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, and Venkatesh Prasad.
As per an ANI report, the PM lauded the Southern film industries for making movies that uphold India’s culture.
The meeting featuring the ‘KGF’ star and the ‘Kantara’ actor is significant. Both actors enjoy a lot of popularity in Karnataka. Are they going to actively or passively endorse the BJP ahead of the Karnataka State Assembly elections this Summer? It is a moot point for now. Usually, happening actors don’t hitch their wagon to any political party that easily, unless their convictions are really strong or are ideological in nature.
With both Yash and Rishab Shetty (who is currently writing ‘Kantara 2’) seen in the presence of Modi, they have bagged national headlines today.
The Hyderabad parallel:
Last year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah hosted Jr NTR while in the city. It was speculated that Tarak would support the BJP. But, so far, nothing has happened on that front.
BJP chief JP Nadda also invited Nithiin for a brief chat last year.
