Video of toilet brush hanging over pizza dough at Domino’s goes viral; Company responds

Pictures from a Domino’s outlet in Bangalore where a toilet brush and a mop were found hanging over bundles of pizza dough recently went viral on social media. A video of the same was also shared by a Twitter user.

“This is how @dominos_india serves us fresh Pizza! Very disgusted. Location: Bangalore,” the man, who goes by the name Sahil Karnany, wrote, tagging the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health, Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. Appalled by the pictures, several social media users slammed the multinational restaurant chain and demanded an explanation from them.

Responding to the claims, Domino’s issued a statement which read, “Domino’s adheres to world-class protocols for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. An incident involving one of our stores was recently brought to our notice.”

“We want to assert that this is an isolated incident, and we have taken the strictest action against the restaurant in question. Please be informed that we have zero tolerance for violations of our high safety standards. Rest assured we remain committed to doing everything necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers,” the statement further added.
