Petta's first single #MaranaMass, after being collectively loved by everyone, became an instant hit. The song was composed by Anirudh and sung by himself and SPB.

However, some people were disappointed with the scanty lyrics rendered by SPB in the song. He had barely two lines to sing when fans had expected him to sing at least three-quarters of the song. Soon after the song's release, social media was filled with memes trolling Anirudh for the same.

When SPB was approached on this subject, he said he was content with the portion that was offered to him, and that he was glad to be singing for Rajini after a long time. He also mentioned how the crew of Petta felt it would be nice to have him take part in the song, and that he thought the song was going to become extremely popular.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Petta is all set to release this Pongal.
