Superstar Rajinikanth's recent statements against Periyar in the 50th anniversary function of Tughlaq magazine had created a huge controversy and many political outfits have been threatening the actor to apologise.

Despite having a police complaint filed against him, Rajnikanth said in a press meet that he spoke facts and that he'll not ask sorry for making the statements. With protests being held against Rajni now actor and fan Raghava Lawrence has tweeted supporting Rajni.

He has posted "I don't know politics but I know Rajni, he's someone who never speaks hurting others and doesn't even act against those who scold him. People are saying he has spoken against Periyar, but in 2006 when Velu Prabhakaran was struggling to release a movie on Periyar it was Rajnikanth who helped by supporting financially and he has great respect on Periyar, so don't misunderstand Rajnikanth".
