Peranbu theatrical rights sold!

Critically acclaimed director Ram, who had last delivered the Andrea Jeremiah, Vasanth Ravi starrer Taramani, is currently expecting the release of his next, the Mammootty, Anjali, Sadhana (Thanga Meengal fame) starrer Peranbu, that has been winning critical acclaim in International film festivals, raising the expectations of Tamil audience.

Peranbu had its world premiere last January at the Rotterdam International film festival and its Asian premiere at Shanghai film festival in June 2018. The movie was also officially selected in the 49th International film festival, Goa held recently, and the movie has also been selected as one of the three Tamil movies alongside Pariyerum Perumal and Merku Thodarchi Malai in the Panchajanyam International film festival held between January 25 – 31.

The latest update on Peranbu is that the Tamilnadu theatrical rights of the movie have been acquired by the distribution house Lightweight, and the movie is expected to hit screens this February, with the speculations that the team is aiming for a February 21/28 release. Peranbu, bankrolled by PL Thenappan, has music by Ram’s regular Yuvan Shankar Raja.
