Penguin doesn’t excite Telugu audiences!

Keerthy Suresh has earned bigger name than her contemporaries with Mahanati. She managed to become a replica of Savitri, almost the legend for today’s youth because of that film in Telugu households. Such is the impact of the film and was the impact of the actress, Savitri on everyone. 

Now, she released Penguin on OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video. But the Telugu audiences didn’t seem to lap it up as much as her Sarkar or Saamy Square. Being a Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu languages release, movie might still be profitable for the service, but it won’t bring them new audiences as direct OTT releases might be equalled to disappointing movies going forward. 

Coming to this movie, critics are panning the story and the characters. Some are saying that the movie has good ideas but did not execute it properly. Some are calling it a failure because of the performances too. 

Keerthy Suresh did not gain any name for putting in efforts to play a pregnant role, till now. The makers also don’t seem to have high hopes from it as the promotions were not at Gulabo Sithabo level. On the whole, movie did not excite audiences, we can say that.
