Pawan Kalyan’s rumoured fee raises eyebrows in industry

Pawan Kalyan is making a comeback with Venu Sriram’s remake of ‘Pink’.  Even before its announcement, the remuneration of Power Star has become a hot topic in the industry.

Unconfirmed media reports have only added to the excitement and even shock around the Jana Sena leader’s fee.  Some reports say that it’s something like Rs 50 Cr.  Others are even more liberal and are quoting a higher number.

None of these figures is fantastical. It’s very much believable that Pawan Kalyan is pocketing at least half a billion rupees for doing the movie.  In the last two years or so, the Telugu theatrical market has matured even though Overseas territory hasn’t been consistently great.  While the remake won’t earn much in terms of Hindi dubbing rights, its digital rights and satellite rights are expected to be remunerative.  

Pawan will work on the film starting from next month.
