Anjana Devi, Pawan Kalyan's mother, today visited the Jana Sena's office in Hyderabad to donate Rs 4 lakh to the party. "My grandfather and father had worked in the police department. I was married to a constable and lived in West Godavari district for several years. The money that I am donating today to Jana Sena is the pension amount that I have been receiving for my husband's services," she said.
The old woman said that she knows the problems that those in the police department face. She recounted that NT Rama Rao's decision to reduce the retirement age to 55 was reversed by Nadendla Bhaskar Rao, who increased it to 58. "That's how my husband got to serve little longer," she said.
Pawan Kalyan said that he knows the concerns of pensioners and added he will fight for their wellbeing.
This was Anjana Devi's maiden visit to her son's party office. She was there for about 1 hour.
