It was on 3 July 1918 that SV Ranga Rao was born. The legendary Telugu cine artist’s works were remembered by a number of TV channels. This made actor-politician Pawan Kalyan pay a rich tribute to SVR on Saturday.
In a statement that came with the seal of the Jana Sena Party, Power Star lauded SVR’s immaculate ability to deliver complex dialogues with utter ease. Saying that the great actor could enact any kind of role in a lovable manner, the ‘Vakeel Saab’ star added that SVR made a distinct mark across genres – historical, mythological, folk, family dramas.

Pawan made a mention of some of the famous character types essayed by SVR. “His acting was insuperable and we can’t imagine anybody else in some of his most iconic roles. Ghatotkacha, Kichaka, Hiranyakashyapa, Akbar, Bhojaraju, Tandra Paparayudu and others were characters only he could have pulled off,” Pawan wrote.
SVR died due to a cardiac arrest in 1974.
