‘Pawan has qualities of that legendary CM’

The name Rama Mohana Rao, former Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary, will be heard often in political news.  It’s because he is the new political adviser to Pawan Kalyan.  Originally hailing from Ongole, Rao went on to join the Tamil Nadu IAS cadre way back in 1985.  Rao was Secretary to Jayalalithaa, late TN CM, until her death in 2016.  He served in the position for 5 years.  After Jaya’s untimely death, his power weakened considerably in the TN government.

Having known Jaya, the AIADMK legend, from close quarters, Rao knows what kind of a person she was.  And having known Pawan Kalyan for a few years now, he knows what kind of a person he is.  Speaking to a portal, Rao has said that the Jana Sena chief has the qualities of Jaya.  Just as the late TN CM used to believe that a “politician’s heart should be with people”, Pawan too thinks on similar lines, he says.

“Pawan is very spiritual.  People’s concerns are his first priority,” Rao says.

Pawan respects Rao a lot since he feels that the IAS officer ran the TN government efficiently when Jaya was in the hospital in 2016.
