‘My husband doesn’t bathe for 10 days, doesn’t brush teeth’ – Woman seeks divorce

A woman from the Vaishali district of Patna has sought a divorce from her husband, stating that he doesn’t take a shower, brush his teeth, or shave for days, leading him to stink.

Soni Devi (20) filed a complaint with the State Women’s Commission (SWC), who have asked Manish Ram (23) to mend his ways within two months. They further warned him that appropriate action would be taken in regard to the matter if he failed to oblige. “My husband stinks as he won’t shave and bathe for nearly 10 days at a stretch. Moreover, he doesn’t brush his teeth. He also doesn’t have manners and follows etiquettes. I don’t want to live with my husband anymore. Kindly get me rid of this man; he has ruined my life,” the woman reportedly mentioned in her statement.

She further added that life had no meaning as her marriage to the guy, who is a plumber by profession, is useless as their relationship with each other was not cordial and they had no children either. One of the SCW members, who found the reason cited by the woman for divorce silly, mentioned, “I have given her husband two months’ time to mend his ways. If his behaviour is not found satisfactory even after that, we will take appropriate action and refer the matter to the family court for separation.”
