Jeyamohan’s bold and open talk on Rajini & Kamal

Writer Jeyamohan and Charu Niveditha are two most popular writers of modern Tamil literature. Jeyamohan is very well known to Tamil movie buffs as he has written the dialogues for many Tamil films including Kamal Haasan's blockbuster 'Papanasam' and Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film '2.0'. Charu has not worked in Tamil films but he is a revered film critic and analyst who has introduced the greatness of many international films to his readers through his books and blog posts. 

Recently the two writers participated as the chief guests of a Tamil book release function held in Chennai. The event also had a interactive session between the duo who have thousands and thousands of fans and are often considered as rivals. 

Charu posed the questions and Jeyamohan gave delectable answers to all . Interestingly the former did not refuse answer to any question despite given a choice to pass on to the next if he does not wish to answer for any question.

Charu asked Jemo about the plus and minus of Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan since he has worked with both of them. 

Jeyamohan without any inhibitions gave a straight forward answer about both the two biggest icons of Tamil cinema. .

He said Rajinikanth's popularity is his biggest asset. He recounted meeting a Indonesian villager gesturing like the Superstar and came to know that his films are very well received by the natives of that place. But the same popularity, Jeyamohan felt was Rajinikanth's weakness because he cannot do the roles he wish to do, due to the pressure of having such a popularity. His films are made at huge budget and they have to be profitable. 

Kamal Haasan's biggest plus point according, Jeyamohan-his friend for more than two decades- is his knowledgeable behaviour.. He has introduced many firsts to Tamil cinema. But the same feature reduces his focus on the ground realities of Tamil Nadu, such as the tastes of rural people.
