Pakistan hand in #GoBackModi trend

Yesterday, as Narendra Modi and China's President Xi Jinping held a meet in Mamallapuram near Tamil Nadu's Chennai, Twitter was awash with anti-Modi rhetoric. The fact is, it was not just against Modi but also against India.
The hashtag trend 'Go Back Modi' was promoted with all gusto by certain Pakistan-based Twitter handles, say reports. "These handles aggressively promote anti-India propaganda on a regular basis. They want to besmirch the image of both Modi and India," a commentator says.
"Not just ordinary citizens of Pakistan but also government-backed Twitter handles indulge in such propaganda from time to time. The idea is to damage India's reputation internationally by strategically floating controversial hashtags during visits of important leaders. The hand of ISI too can't be ruled out," another commentator says.
A few national media houses have audited random Twitter handles that are into promoting such hashtags (#GoBackSadistModi too was there). They found that Pakistanis were doing it religiously during Xi's visit yesterday. India's alleged atrocities in Kashmir have also been highlighted in some of the tweets.
