Pa Ranjith is a well-known filmmaker, producer and activist whose works constantly voice out a rational ideology against social evils. His new production venture, 'Blue Star', is all set to hit the screens on January 25. The film's audio launch took place in Chennai today in the presence of Ranjith.
Pa Ranjith reflected on his thoughts about the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration and the Babar Masjid demolition tragedy while talking at this event. He said, "Today is a very important day. India is moving towards a very critical phase. Still, we don't know how badly we are going to die in India in 5 or 10 years. We should make use of ourselves before that."
"We are using art as a weapon to destroy the regressiveness and religiousness that has been loaded into our brains. We hope to destroy the retrogrades. We must do what we can to stop India from sliding into a more destructive phase," added the filmmaker. The reporters asked him about Superstar Rajinikanth visiting Ayodhi and the statement he made.
Ranjith answered, "It's his choice to go to the Ram temple. But he stated that this is a conclusion to a 500-year-old problem. We have to question the politics behind it. I have a critique of his opinion beyond whether he is right or wrong." He is implying the demolition of Babri Masjid and the communal violence behind it. Ranjith and Rajinikanth have worked together in 'Kabali' and 'Kaala' earlier.
