There is now a separate OTT service exclusively dedicated to the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community. Named EORTV, this is India’s first LGBT-focused video-streaming service, which is going to have an app of its own very soon.
As per a report by MoneyControl, EORTV will “not only provide original content for the LGBT community but also offer it a chance to showcase its talent.”
EORTV executive director Kaushik Izardar has been quoted as saying that the streaming platform’s originals will showcase “not just the struggles or unacceptance in the society of the LGBT people but also their love stories”.
But for the pandemic-induced lockdown, EORTV would have been at a full-throttle already. The streaming service aims to attract as many as 3-4 million subscribers by the end of next March. ‘Love you Hamesha’, ‘Mombian’, ‘Game of the Sexes’, ‘Let There Be Love’, and ‘I love Us 2’ are some of the originals that are already streaming.
