Actress Deepika Padukone has accused the Oscars of consistently overlooking India. She, who participated as a presenter at the 2023 Oscars, recently shared a video discussing the award.
In the video, she mentioned that India has missed out on the Oscars multiple times. She believes that many deserving Indian films and talents have been ignored. She recalled her emotional moment when announcing the award for the song “Naatu Naatu” from the film “RRR.”
“As a spectator, I felt deeply moved. Apart from being an Indian, I have no personal connection to the film, but the moment was incredibly special. I personally felt immense pride,” she expressed.
