Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s ‘Ramayana’ to Premiere at Los Angeles Academy Museum on October 27

The makers of Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rocking Star Yash and Sai Pallavi, are gearing up for a major international milestone as the much-anticipated Indian epic is set to have its world premiere at the David Geffen Theatre of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on October 27, 2026.

The exclusive screening will bring together prominent Hollywood personalities, international filmmakers, members of the global press and leading figures from the film industry. The film will be screened in 3D before a full-capacity audience of 945 guests, marking a significant step in the makers’ efforts to introduce the Indian epic to audiences worldwide.

‘Ramayana’ Brings Indian Festive Spirit to Hollywood

The premiere is particularly special as it coincides with the Deepavali festive season. Adding a touch of Indian tradition to the international event, guests have been requested to arrive in traditional Indian festive attire for the red carpet.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, renowned for celebrating the history, art and science of filmmaking, has hosted several prestigious international events and Oscar-related celebrations. Choosing this iconic venue for Ramayana underscores the scale of the film’s global ambitions.

Nitesh Tiwari Directs the Two-Part Epic

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

Adding to the film’s international appeal is its music, composed by legendary Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer and celebrated Indian composer A. R. Rahman. The makers are envisioning Ramayana as a two-part cinematic spectacle, combining Indian mythology with large-scale visual effects and a global filmmaking approach.

‘Ramayana’ Release Date and Languages

The first part of Ramayana is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, while the second instalment is planned for a Diwali 2027 release.

The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, with an additional IMAX release planned to deliver an immersive cinematic experience. Sony Pictures will handle the film’s global distribution outside India.

With an exclusive Los Angeles premiere, international distribution plans and a star-studded cast, Ramayana is positioning itself as one of the most ambitious Indian cinematic ventures aimed at a worldwide audience. The October 27 event is expected to serve as a key showcase for the film ahead of its theatrical release.
