O Kalyan, the former Film Federation President and senior artist, is a member of the Movie Artists Association. He has expressed his opinion on the ongoing row over the alleged flouting of norms during the conduct of the MAA elections.
In a statement, Kalyan said, "I firstly congratulate the victorious members of the recent elections. Prakash Raj has been asking for CCTV footage of the elections inside the polling booth. The response from the other side hasn't been to my satisfaction. It's unreasonable that election officer Krishna Mohan is trying to wash off the responsibility of providing CCTV footage. Recently, at the oath-taking ceremony (of Manchu Vishnu), Krishna Mohan said that he conducted the elections smoothly under the aegis of Mohan Babu garu. Does he know how to talk?"
Touching upon the by-laws concerning the conduct of MAA elections, Kalyan said that the fundamentals of the by-laws were not followed in the way the notification was issued. "Ex-President VK Naresh, who is my friend, wrote in a letter that Krishna Mohan would be both the election officer and the legal advisor of the election. Is this as per the by-law, which clearly states that the President must follow the by-law in letter and spirit?," O Kalyan asked.
