Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Producers’ Council and Movie Artistes Association have announced that film shoots stand cancelled until March 31. This decision comes in the wake of the Coronavirus threat.
“Although this decision puts several producers in trouble, we are left with no option. In view of the safety and health of cast and crew members, there is a need to halt all production works in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” the associations’ leadership said on Sunday evening.
They have also welcomed the decision of the Government of Telangana to shut down theatres in order to prevent public gatherings.
Tollywood is estimated to earn losses to the tune of crores of rupees because of the closure of theatres as well as the stalling of shoots.
Meanwhile, the shoot of Prabhas’ 20th film, among others, continues to happen in foreign countries like Georgia.
