It’s known that Megastar Chiranjeevi today met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy at his residence in Amaravathi. Indications are that the meeting was fruitful.
The ‘Acharya’ actor pitched to the CM several concerns afflicting the Telugu film industry. A key outcome is that the CM, as per Chiru, responded favourably to the concerns expressed by the actor.
“I explained the concerns and the Chief Minister assured me that a government-formed Committee will take care of them to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. A draft will be prepared and the stakeholders associated with Tollywood will be consulted on the same. We are expecting a new GO on ticket rates in a week or two,” the ‘Bholaa Shankar’ star said.
The issue of online ticketing, which has been favoured by Chiru and top producers, came in for a mention. The AP government has been in favour of integrating online and box office ticketing systems to ensure transparency.
The issue of extra shows, relief measures to mitigate the suffering of the exhibition sector, and other issues also cropped up. A committee report on the issues that concern Tollywood is awaited soon. The government will study the report in-depth and take a call.
