Nelson Dilipkumar debuted as a filmmaker with Nayanthara’s ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ in 2018. Following the film’s success, he became a leading director and worked with Sivakarthikeyan in ‘Doctor’ and Thalapathy Vijay in ‘Beast’. Currently, his next film ‘Jailer’ starring Superstar Rajinikanth is gearing up for release.
Meanwhile, it is common knowledge that Nelson worked with Simbu for ‘Vettai Mannan’ in 2013, which was supposed to be his debut directorial. Unfortunately, the project got shelved after more than 50% of the shooting was completed. According to a strong buzz, Nelson and Simbu are planning to revive Vettai Mannan now as they are at the peak of their careers.
We already updated you that Nelson is joining Dhanush under Raaj Kamal Films International for a new film. But the project will go on the floors only by next year owing to Dhanush’s busy schedule. On the other hand, Simbu should do a film for Vels Films International before he works on ‘STR48’. We have to wait if the Atman chooses Vettai Mannan as his immediate project.
Vettai Mannan is an action thriller and movie based on the life of underworld assassins. Back in 2013, Nelson shot Vettai Mannan with Simbu, Jai, Hansika, Deeksha Seth, Santhanam, Poonam Kaur, VTV Ganesh, Redin Kingsley and others in the cast. We have to wait and see if the makers retain the same cast and crew with old footage or if they entirely re-shoot it. Yuvan Shankar Raja was the music composer for the film earlier.
