Gal Gadot is coming back as Wonder Woman in a third film, as she revealed in an interview with DC Studios co-chairs Peter Safran and James Gunn. She said how much she loves playing the character and expressed joy over working with James and Peter on the upcoming movie. This third installment was not part of the previously announced DC Studios projects, but they did announce a Wonder Woman-based HBO Max series called Paradise Lost.
Gadot was going to appear in the 3rd Wonder Woman movie that would’ve been helmed by Patty Jenkins. This fell through and couldn’t move forward. However, James Gunn revealed they didn’t fire Gal and are open to her returning as the superhero.
In the interview, Gadot also came across with enthusiasm for the cast of Superman Legacy, though she was unaware of any casting decisions on that. She debuted in 2016 as Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman and succeeded at the box-office with her own movie last year. Wonder Woman 1984 received mixed reviews and was released strictly on HBO Max.
Even with the highs and lows, Gadot’s performance as Wonder Woman has been consistently lauded. There is much interest in seeing her play this iconic role once more.
