Lady Superstar Nayanthara, who had last acted in Superstar Rajnikanth's Darbar, is now acting in a number of movies including Rajnikanth's Annaatthe directed by Siva, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal directed by Vignesh Shivan and female centric movies like Netrikann directed by Milind Rau.

While there are several other movies which are in talks, the latest reports suggest that Nayanthara might be approached to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of the recently released Bollywood hit Thappad. This movie had Taapsee Pannu in the lead and was directed by Anubhav Sinha.

Thappad has a strong female centric theme, and is about what a woman decides when she is slapped by her husband in public, and how her moves make her stand loud and clear against male dominance. With this theme having scope for the female character, it has to be seen if Nayanthara will accept to star in Thappad remake.
