An actress has married the director of her latest movie and escaped from her adoptive parents, leaving the Kannada film industry shocked. Vijayalakshmi, a supporting artist in Sandalwood, has been acting in the director's movie.

Vijayalakshmi fell in love with director Anjaneya, and the couple decided to get married. However, her parents did not approve of her love and since they opposed, Vijayalakshmi eloped with Anjaneya and married him. 

Following this, her adoptive parents made a complaint that Vijayalakshmi was kidnapped and that she had taken advances from many film producers.

Vijayalakshmi reached the police station and alleged that she was not kidnapped and that she had married Anjaneya after being opposed by her parents. She added that she was tortured by her adoptive parents who physically assaulted her and had also planned to murder Anjanaya.  The budding actress demanded protection for her and her husband from her adoptive parents.
