Chandrakant Hutgi, a 52-year-old policeman at the Hubli Rural Police Station in Karnataka has a special talent. He can play the flute with his lathi. Meant to be used as a weapon, his use of the instrument may symbolically represent the way in which he helps find peace in the midst of violence. The head constable can be seen playing a beautiful piece in the video uploaded by the Additional Director General of Police, Bhaskar Rao. He reports being proud of the virtuoso.
Netizens are appreciating the policeman while expressing their own creativity. One said: “Looks like he can make lawbreakers dance to his lathi tune.” Another reported: “Another amazing use of creativity in policing. A police lathi turned into a flute... This is what is 'abiding by the tunes of law'.” A third person said: “Wish robbers would follow him like Pied Piper.”
With such talent, this officer has a definite alternate career option after retirement.
