'Most Eligible Bachelor', which hit the screens on Friday, has received critical applause all over. The film has turned out to be a rarefied comeback of sorts for 'Bommarillu' Baskar.
Pooja Hegde's Vibha is coming in for special praise. Her character's ideology and thinking, the characterization, the dialogues -- everything has been closely analyzed and genuinely admired by the audience on social media.
A Twitter user said that Baskar has shown a fresh path to Telugu cinema by making a female lead out of a professional stand-up comedian. Since Vibha is witty and her jokes are irresistible, the character has a charm of its own. Vibha's questioning of the mores and standards of relationships is set to inspire youths, a social media user predicted. Yet another audience member wrote, "A lot of us have been missing romance in our relationships. After watching 'Most Eligible Bachelor', we know what we need to do to fix things."
Akhil Akkineni's performance has been lauded as much as Pooja's. With music by Gopi Sundar, the film has cinematography by Pradeesh M Varma.
