One of the most successful heroes ever in Tamil is Mohan who has given a record number of silver jubilee films during the 80s. For a considerable period he was the numero uno in Kollywood attracting more audiences to theaters than Sivaji, Rajini and Kamal.
The uniqueness of Mohan was that he never shied away from experimenting beyond his romantic hero image and did villainous as well as character roles at the peak of his career. He last played the lead in Tamil in ‘Uruvam’ which was released in 1991 and has been in a self imposed hiatus for the past two decades.
Mohan after a long time has signed on to play the lead role in a new movie titled ‘Haraa’ based on a father-daughter relationship. The film is directed by Vijay Sri G of ‘Dha Dha 87’ fame that had octogenarian actor Charuhaasan in the lead.
It has now been revealed that Khushbu is on board ‘Haraa’ playing the pair of Mohan and this is the first time the duo are sharing screen space in Tamil cinema. Earlier in 1988 they acted together in the Telugu film ‘Aathma Katha’. The film will go on floors in March this year.
An elated Khushbu has shared “It’s like a dream come true to work with #Mohan for the first time in tamil. Wanted to do so since I saw him in #MounaRagam for the first time. Thank you @vijaysrig for this opportunity. Thanks @onlynikil for being part of our association. Look forward to this. Wish us luck.”
