SS Rajamouli in one of his lockdown interactions with media said that he found Parasite boring and couldn’t finish it. He later clarified that it was his personal opinion and he will stick to it.
Mithai film writer-director-producer, Prashant Kumar in an article wrote that such claims are irresponsible. He said a director of SS Rajamouli stature shouldn’t have dismissed a film like that as he has greater influence on young people.
He also said that he found that statement as a disrespect to Bong John-Ho and claimed that Telugu Cinema is in nowhere superior to Japanese and Korean Cinema, not even in business level. Hence, he asked such evolved directors’ art to be respected.
He stated that he is at peace in Goa after he made the movie Mithai. He said that he is writing faster and completed few scripts, too. He shared that he is ready to sell one to Hindi producers but lockdown did put things on hold.
He said that a very optimistic prediction would be to expect people returning to theatres like they used to in an year’s time. Hence, he wrote that the new generation and even old might have to adapt to new OTT based content production with lesser crew and smaller set-ups.
