Director Mari Selvaraj, known for making hard-hitting films, currently has 'Maamannan' and 'Vaazhai' in his pipeline. Maamannan is a magnum opus highly anticipated for its super-talented star cast: Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahad Faasil and Keerthy Suresh.

The upcoming political thriller is produced by Red Giant Movies. The film went on the floors in early 2022 and the shooting was entirely wrapped up a few months ago. Now, sources tell us that the post-production work is heading strongly at a rapid pace. Reportedly, the makers are aiming for a grand theatrical release for Mamannan on May 12, 2023, tentatively.

The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix. The technical team includes Isai Puyal AR Rahman as the music director, Theni Eswar as the cinematographer and Selva RK as the editor. Raveena Ravi is also playing a key role in this movie. Maamannan is expected to be the last release in Udhayanidhi Stalin's acting career.
