Renowned author Kalki's 'Ponniyin Selvan', the spectacle of Tamil literature, was adapted into a two-part film by the legendary director Mani Ratnam. The story revolves around the true heir of the Chola throne and the Pandyas conspiracy around it. 'PS-1' was released last year and became an industry hit.

Now, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is all set for a grand release globally on April 28 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam in IMAX and other versions. The latest hot update is that PS-2's runtime will be 2 hours and 37 minutes (157 minutes). As per the reports, this is the final duration of the final copy and it is the length of the uncensored version.

Sources say that the first half will be 79 minutes (1 hour and 19 minutes) while the second half's runtime is 78 minutes (1 hour and 18 minutes). It is worth mentioning that the PS-1 was 10 minutes longer than the sequel. The fans are wondering whether the makers can present such an elaborate story like Ponniyin Selvan in this duration.

Ponniyin Selvan 2's ensemble cast comprises Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Ashwin, Mohan Ram, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu and others.
