Manchu Lakshmi shifted her base to Mumbai

Lakshmi Manchu, a well-established actress and producer in the Telugu film industry, is embarking on an exciting new chapter in her career. After residing in Hyderabad for several years, she has made the bold decision to relocate to Mumbai in pursuit of fresh opportunities within the film industry. In a recent interview, Lakshmi expressed her eagerness to embrace auditions and visit production houses in her quest for engaging and diverse roles.

Lakshmi made headlines recently for a regrettable incident when, during an interview at SIIMA 2023, she accidentally struck someone, drawing criticism for her actions.

In the latest development, the actress has successfully shifted her base to Mumbai. She shared her excitement on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “New City, New Era. Super grateful for this life. Thank you to all my fans for always supporting and believing in me. #mumbai (sic).”

In a conversation, Lakshmi explained her decision, stating, “I felt the need to give Mumbai a sincere try. While I have explored a wide spectrum of roles in the South, I yearn to push my creative boundaries. My lineage, though a privilege, can also be limiting in terms of the roles I’m offered. Mumbai’s entertainment industry offers a broader canvas. I am fully prepared to delve into web series and films.”

She is determined to restart her career with a fresh perspective, saying, “I’m open to auditions and willing to go from one office to another for meetings. I am not a star kid in Mumbai, and I recognize that. The city is experiencing significant cross-industry collaboration, making it an opportune time for me to reinvent myself.”

Lakshmi Manchu expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her mother, who has been a rock of support, and her father, Mohan Babu, who had concerns about her relocating away from their family home. She shared, “Initially, I contemplated returning to Los Angeles, which understandably worried my mom. Later, I informed her of my plans to move to Mumbai. My mother has always been my greatest advocate. My father expressed concerns, citing fears that every father has about his daughter leaving home, including worries about the city’s complexities.”

Her most recent appearance was in Mohanlal’s ‘Monster,’ marking her debut in the Malayalam film industry. This bold move to Mumbai signals a new chapter in her illustrious career as she seeks to explore fresh horizons and take on diverse and challenging roles.
