Man kills daughter as part of black magic to have a son

It’s been more eight decades since Independence of India. Many parts of the country are still stuck with in the past and people are not ready to develop themselves.

Such are many rural areas of Jharkhand that are still not free from the grip of superstition. In a horrific incident, a man killed his six-year-old daughter by slitting her throat at the behest of an ojha or baba (who does black magic) in aspiration to have a baby boy.

The incident took place in Peshrar block of Lohardaga in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The 26-year-old accused, Suman Negasia, works as a labourer.

Suman, the father of the baby had come in contact with an ojha, who advised him to kill her daughter if he wants a son. The victim’s mother was at her parents’ house when the incident took place.

Peshrar police have arrested Suman and the girl’s body was handed over to the family after post mortem.

A hunt has been launched to nab the ojha, and further investigation is underway.
