A tragic incident occurred on a Lufthansa flight this week, as a man aged 63 died on a plane mid-flight, leaving passengers distressed.
A man, whose identity was not immediately clear, was traveling with his wife from Bangkok to Munich on Thursday, according to Swiss-German outlet Blick.
Witnesses Martin and Karin Missfelder, who sat behind the couple, identified that the man’s health was deteriorating. Karin, who is a nursing specialist, noticed symptoms such as feeling cold, sweating, and breathing too fast.
The passengers and crew advised the man to see a doctor, as even Karin did, but the man would not take it seriously. The actions of the onboard doctor only slightly helped.
The situation suddenly got worse when he started to cough blood, which led to panic among all passengers. Stewardesses tried to help him, but unfortunately, he passed away because of his condition.
Amidst the chaos, flight data showed that the plane was forced to return after departing from Bangkok International Airport. As the plane returned to the airport, the crew took the body of the man to the galley.
Lufthansa later confirmed the unlucky incident. This would be the latest incident to remind people of how uncertain air travel can be after last year’s headline-grabbing turbulent flight.
