‘Malli Modalaindi’: Perfect OTT ‘dish’ served!

‘Malli Modalaindi’ has been streaming on ZEE5 since February 11. Early indications are that the exclusive OTT release, starring Sumanth in the lead, has hit the bull’s eye.

The viewers have liked the relationship drama for its obvious strengths. It’s a neat family entertainer that youngsters of today’s times would find relatable. A divorcee, commenting about the film on Facebook, made a special mention of RESET, a company floated by Naina Ganguly’s character in the movie. It’s at RESET where divorcees find a new ray of hope. An idea of this sort is the first of its kind in an Indian film. These portions are not just light-veined but also profound.

Sumanth has played a chef and his platonic equations with his female friend, played by Pavani Reddy, are being liked by the viewers. “It is not always that a male-female friendship is explored in a mature fashion in a Telugu film,” a viewer commented.

Director TG Keerthi Kumar worked on the script in a thorough-going manner and the effective writing shows. Vennela Kishore and Posani Krishna Murali have played comical and semi-serious roles, respectively. “An emotional scene between Posani and Sumanth is well-written,” a critic said.

The film has music by Anup Rubens.
