‘Majili’ was a game-changer, says Chay as it turns one

It was on this date last year that ‘Majili’ hit the screens.  Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the coming-of-age romantic sports drama starred Naga Chaitanya, Samantha Akkineni and Divyansha Kaushik in lead roles.  As the Summer blockbuster turns one, the Akkineni hero today got nostalgic about it.  

Plugging a fan-made poster, Chay said, “Thank you guys for this poster! Really means a lot, and for making Majili a game-changer film for me.  This one will be forever close to my heart! #1yearofmajili #ChaySam.”  

The film had Samantha in one of her most challenging roles ever.  Chay played a cricketer who comes with angst and pain.  Subbaraju, Rao Ramesh, Atul Kulkarni, and Posani Krishna Murali played important parts.  Gopi Sunder’s songs and Thaman’s background score were big assets.
