It`s known that Mahesh Babu has adopted two villages, namely, Siddhapur in Mahbub Nagar district in Telangana and Burripalem in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. Following the release of Srimanthudu, it was said that Mahesh had been inspired to do something of this sort even before Srimanthudu. However, he didn`t do it during the film`s making as the detractors might say that he`s doing it for the sake of publicity.

While Mahesh might have adopted the two villages with clean intentions, he has been facing some criticism, reportedly from the residents of these villages, for not visiting them even once in the last 8 months. In the wake of such slamming, Namrata, the wife of Mahesh, took it upon herself to reach out to the villagers of Siddhapur the other day. Besides attending a local medical camp, Namrata promised all possible help to convert the village into a smart one. (This could be because of the push for smart villages from the Centre and State governments).

She is also reported to have said that she will speak with the District Collector regarding redress of certain grievances.

Mahesh being busy shooting for Brahmotsavam, he couldn`t make it to the village. It has to be seen if Mahesh will involve himself by being physically present in the village at least for a few hours in future. So far, celebs like Prakash Raj and Nana Patekar have done this. As per the reports, Namrata has said that Siddhapur will be “developed on the lines of Burripalem”. May be, Mahesh wants to stay away from media glare and do things silently. Let`s hope he will surprise everyone in the coming weeks and months by heralding (more) change in the adopted villages.
