Dark shades of Chiyaan Vikram on display in energy lacking ‘Mahaan’ teaser

The teaser of Chiyaan Vikram’s upcoming movie ‘Mahaan’ which is just out showcases the different dark shades of the talented actor.   The clip opens with Chiyaan’s father played by Naren begging a young Gandhi Mahaan to promise to fight against liqor like his forefathers.

The eventual shots show that the grown up Gandhi Mahaan becomes an illicit liqor baron and a gangster.   Vikram seems to enjoy himself in the negative role and elevates rather lacklustre buildup scenes with his acting.   The teaser ends with a shot of dada played by Dhruv Vikram with only his back visible.

‘Mahaan’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Seven Screen Studios has in the cast Vikram, Simran, Dhruv Vikram, Vani Bhojan and Bobby Simha.  Music is by Santhosh Narayanan and the film will commence streaming on Amazon Prime Video from February 10th onwards.
