Director withdraws Lok Sabha election nomination!

Director Gowthaman, who had made Magizhchi starring Seeman and Anjali, has been of late involved in political movements and protests against government. Recently he had filed nomination to contest in the Lok Sabha elections from Thoothukudi constituency but now has withdrawn the nomination unexpectedly.

In Thoothukudi constituency, DMK, BJP, AMMK, MNM and Naam Thamizhar parties are contesting and have already announced their candidates. Before a while, director Gowthaman had recently launched a political party named Thamizh Perarasu Katchi, and had filed nomination to contest from Thoothukudi.

The nominations had ended by yesterday, and in an unexpected turn of events, Gowthaman has withdrawn his nominations, and when asked regarding his decision, he said “What is going to happen on April 18 is the murder of democracy and not election. Thamizhisai Soundararajan is working as a director in govt. Petroleum corporation, but hiding this fact, she has filed nomination and this was accepted as well. I have withdrawn my nomination disappointed with this act of the election officials”.
