Youth arrested for posting morphed pictures of PM Modi on Facebook

A 28-year-old man has been arrested after uploading morphed pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Facebook along with obscene and abusive comments.

The police reportedly stated that the 28-year-old man, identified as Parvez Alam from Madhya Pradesh, was found guilty of posting morphed pictures of the PM on the social media app Facebook with abusive comments after a man named Sartaj Alam registered a complaint at the Gohalpur police station against Parvez. He was then booked under Sections 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and the Information Technology Act Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Indian Penal Code.

Parvez Alam was arrested on Friday night, following which he was produced before a local court. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
