Rajinikanth’s relative makes her Kollywood debut with Vijay Sethupathi

Noted theater personality Madhuvanthi Arun, the daughter of Veteran actor and theater artist Y.Gee.Mahendra will be making her Kollywood debut with the upcoming Vijay Sethupathi starrer 'Dharmadurai'.

Madhuvanthi plays the role of a police officer in the film. The film's director Seenu Ramasamy has apparently watched 'Perumaley' the latest play in which Madhuvanthi has acted in the lead role. The director impressed by her performance has instantly decided to cast her in the role. Her character will appear in the flashback portions of the film and it will be a short by strong characters.

This is Madhuvanthi's first film and she says she could not take up a role offered to her in Superstar Rajinikanth's 1995 blockbuster 'Muthu'.

Interestingly Madhuvanthi is also acting in her second film now. She has been cast in an important role in director Raghavan's 'Kadamban' starring Arya and Catherine Tresa in lead roles. This film also stars her father YGM and it will be her first onscreen appearance with her dear father.

It is worth noting that Madhuvanthi is he niece of Superstar Rajinikanth's wife Latha Rajinikanth and the cousin of Aishwarya Dhanush and Soundarya Ashwin.
