Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has made his debut as a lead actor with the crime action drama ‘DC’, which arrived in theatres on Friday. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film features Bollywood actress Wamiqa Gabbi as the female lead.
The latest update is that Sun NXT has acquired the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights. The OTT partner was officially revealed during the opening credits of the film, confirming that DC will eventually make its digital premiere on the platform after its theatrical run.
The film opened to strongly positive reviews, with critics praising Arun Matheswaran’s treatment and describing DC as one of the notable Tamil releases of the year. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s transition from filmmaker to lead actor has also been a major talking point surrounding the movie.
Produced by Sun Pictures, DC features an intense crime-action backdrop, while Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music. The combination of Arun Matheswaran’s filmmaking, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut and Anirudh’s music has generated considerable interest among Tamil cinema audiences.
While the makers are yet to announce the exact OTT premiere date, the acquisition by Sun NXT gives audiences clarity on where the film will stream following its theatrical window.
