Lokesh Kanagaraj will be writing and directing the movie and the pre-production works are set to commence in a couple of weeks. Produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, 'Thalapathy 67' will go on the floors in October month, reportedly. Sources say that Lokesh Kanagaraj has retained the same crew from 'Vikram' for this upcoming venture.

Samantha is said to be playing the female lead opposite Vijay while Anirudh, who scored the music for 'Master' and 'Vikram', will be scoring the music for 'Thalapathy 67'. Lokesh Kanagaraj to make his Telugu debut after 'Thalapathy 67', which will star either Ram Charan or Allu Arjun.
