Lokesh Kanagaraj who started his career with the low key ‘Maanagaram’ received critical acclaim and followed it with a hatrrick of blockbuster hits ‘Kaithi’ starring Karthi, ‘Master’ starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi and ‘Vikram’ starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya.
His next biggie ‘Thalapathy 67’ for which he is reuniting with Vijay carries one of the biggest hypes ever in Tamil cinema. The gangster flick is said to star Vijay, Trisha, Arjun, Masoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, GVM and Sanjay Dutt. There are also speculations that Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi an Fahadh Faasil may also appear as part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. The ace filmmaker has made it clear that all the official announcement on this project will be out only after the release of Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Varisu’.
Meanwhile the hot news now is that Lokesh Kanagaraj has turned producer and is bankrolling two projects next year. According to reports the first will be directed by his close friend and frequent collaborator Rathna Kumar which will have Raghava Lawrence in the lead.
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second production venture is set to star Chiyaan Vikram in the lead and will be helmed by Mahesh Balasubramaniam who has worked as his associate director in all his films. The official announcements on these exciting projects will be made soon.
