Lockdown-3: Key highlights of what is allowed, what is not

Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday issued an order to further extend the ongoing lockdown for a period of two weeks beyond May 4.  The lockdown will come to an end on May 17 as of now.  

130 red zones, 284 orange zones and 319 green zones have been identified across the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.  

The government noted that relaxations will be considerable in Green and Orange zones in the country.  

Liquor stores and paan shops will be allowed to function in Green Zones while ensuring a minimum six feet distance from each other.  Not more than five persons can be present at one time at the shop.  

Key Highlights:

Most of the commercial and private establishments have been allowed in Red Zones.  

Persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women, children below the age of 10 shall stay at home across the country.

Out-patient services and medical clinics can operate in ALL zones.

Barber shops, saloons, auto rickshaw services, among others, are prohibited in Red Zones even outside containment clusters.

In Red Zones, private offices can work with 33% strength.  Other employees must work from home.  

Activities banned across India in ALL zones:

Travel by air, rail, metro and inter-State movement by road; Running of schools, colleges, and other educational; Training/coaching institutions.  

Hotels and restaurants; cinema halls, malls, gyms and sports complexes won’t operate. Social, political, cultural and other kinds of gatherings, including at places of worship, are banned across the country.
