Akhil Akkineni seems to have found his much-awaited box office winner with Lenin. After an encouraging opening on Friday, the film gathered momentum over the weekend, ending its first three days with an impressive ₹37.07 crore worldwide gross.
Trade estimates show that Lenin earned ₹29.27 crore gross from the Indian market, while the overseas circuit added ₹7.80 crore. The film’s India net collection stands at ₹25.45 crore after its opening weekend.
The film’s growth over the three days has been one of its biggest positives. It started with ₹8.22 crore gross on Friday, climbed to ₹9.95 crore on Saturday, and reached its highest single-day total on Sunday with ₹11.10 crore gross. The upward trend suggests that positive audience response translated into stronger footfalls as the weekend progressed.
As expected, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained the film’s biggest contributors, accounting for ₹25.40 crore gross. Outside the Telugu states, Karnataka emerged as the strongest market with ₹3.12 crore, while Tamil Nadu contributed ₹0.33 crore and the rest of India added ₹0.42 crore.
The opening weekend numbers have given Lenin a solid foundation at the box office. With positive word of mouth and encouraging collections so far, all eyes are now on the film’s weekday performance to determine how far it can carry its successful run.
