Latha Rajinikanth is acting in ‘Jailer’?

The first glimpse teaser of Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ was released yesterday as a celebration of the legendary actor’s 72nd birthday.  The clip that went viral introduced his character Muthuvel Pandian in the film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures with Anirudh scoring the music.

A breakdown of the frames of the ‘Jailer’ glimpse teaser shows the surprising presence of a real life photo of Rajini and his wife Latha Rajinikanth on the wall.  This has raised speculations whether Latha has acted in the film and may appear in the flashback portions.

Latha had earlier appeared as herself in ‘Anbulla Rajinikanth’ in which she also sang the title song.  She has produced two films ‘Maaveeran’ and ‘Valli’ both starring her husband.  The real reason behind her photo in ‘Jailer’ may be one of the surprises the film packs and we will have to wait for clarity on this.

‘Jailer’ stars Rajinikanth, Sivarajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Aranthangi Nisha, Paruthiveeran Saravanan and others. The film is expected to release on Tamil New Year next year.
